Ask the Leader

Welcome to 'Ask the Leader'

If you have any questions that you would like me to answer then here is the place to do it. If I am unable to give you a direct answer then I will do my very best to find out where you can obtain a response. Questions on our previous Ask the Leader Forum have included:

  • Do you feel that the proposed Gateway is a good use of public money when you’re debating moving the town hall?
  • There seems to be, in the past two weeks, an outbreak of graffiti in the town centre. Is there anyway CCTV can find the person responsible and get them arrested?
  • What is happening with the Morrisons site?

So have a think about what you would really like to know and share your question with others here at ‘Ask the Leader’.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Many thanks,
Roy Bullock, Leader of Tunbridge Wells Borough Council

Dear Maurice, I do not agree with your comment but in an ideal world the interchange should be just that a short step away from the railhead and I am afraid neither the Cinema site nor the Town Hall are in that category. Thanks for the message. ...

Personally I would rather the Council paid than have some unidentified benefactor paying for this meal. Are they expecting any favours in return or is it purely an act of selfless generosity. We need to know so we can decide!

To C TWells and A.E-B, As far as I am concerned the public interest has been satisfied by there being no charge to the Council Tax payers for this part of the process of finding a replacement Chief Executive.

Respectfully Councillor Bullock, this does not satisfy the public interest. Either the meal was important in the selection process, or it was not. In the later case, then spending council time on it was wasteful (and even proposing to fund it through t...

Looks like this area of the site needs more publicity. I only found it by accident. Most of the other links to 'Ask the leader' still say the facility is off line. Anyway, good to see this back again.. Howard
